Pinon Brittle

1 cup piñon nuts
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups granulated sugar

Melt sugar over low heat stirring constantly until it becomes thin syrup. Mix in shelled nuts and pour a thin sheet into a large buttered cookie sheet. When candy is cold and hard, break into pieces.
